Near and far
Each time...
Holding hands
Smiling
Laughing
And sometimes weeping
Traveling together
Is so full of sweetness
And sorrow
We had no idea
How long the ride would last
Until one day
My traveling angel
Wasn't feeling up for the ride
In mind
Body
And spirit
She had had enough
I wasn't ready
So many more stops to go
But it wasn't up to her
As the rail car slowed to a stop
We held hands
Looked into each other's eyes
And knew that our journey
Was coming to an end
She released my hand
Rose...
Looked back at me
One more time
And exited the door
After that...
She was no more
I am on the train now
Only one
Of two passengers
Heartbroken
Feeling lost
Still very much
In love
